Frogshack Farm Walks & King Island Garlic
Walk and talk with the farmers and creators of this permaculturally inspired eco-pocket, designed with nature in mind and evolving within a traditional King Island Grass-fed Beef family enterprise. Frogshack Farm is a fusion of farm and forest, with wetlands and wild things, gardens, garlic and fruity groves, creature trees and people trees, beef, botany, birds and bees……… and a house growing from stone and straw. A visit can focus on any of these themes to suit visitors’ interest. King Island Garlic is a speciality at Frogshack Farm and a walk briefly covers this boutique enterprise, but if you suspect you may be a ‘garlic geek’ a broader ‘Greet Your Garlic’ Half-Day Workshop experience is for you. A workshop takes an in-depth look at the origin and evolution of the ‘Magic Bulb’ and explain how to identify diverse varieties. Seasonal Garlic Sales are available.
When: Farm Walks: mid-September until June (24 Hours notice essential)
‘Greet Your Garlic’ Workshop – available during spring, summer and autumn (7 days advance bookings essential). Groups bookings welcome.

Platypus are only found in eastern Australia and in Tasmania and are one of only five species of monotremes; egg laying mammals. They have a bill like a duck, a tail like a beaver and feet like an otter and are so unusal that the first samples sent back to Europe were thought to be of other animals stitched together for a joke! Local tour guide Ondrea Richards will be happy to take you to the best site on King Island to see these amazing creatures.

Whale Tail House, Art Tours & Workshops
As seen on “Australia’s Grand Design” this bespoke house has been embedded into the dynamic coastal dunes of Yellow Rock. Magnificent panoramic views are seen from within, along side a special art collection. The architectural build is explained on tour, its off grid qualities and low environmental impact. The hosts, both artists, also tell of the art collection and their previous lives in Arnhem land. Print workshops are also on offer in the property’s studio. Both tours and workshop are by appointment only.
